교회 소개​

 

샴페인 새생명교회 (New Life Korean Church of Champaign) 는 사명자인 이민자를 섬기고, 더이상 잃을 수 없는 청년을 살리고, 교회의 미래인 다음 세대를 세우는 교회 공동체입니다.​ 우리 교회는 1988년 2월 7일에 샴페인-어바나 지역 한인 유학생의 복음화를 위해 Korean New Life Free Methodist Church of Urbana로 설립되었고, 근 몇년간 교단에 속하지 않은 독립교회로 있다가, 2026년 4월 PCA (Presbyterian Church in America, 미국장로교) 교단 한인 중부노회에 속하게 되었습니다.

 

우리의 신앙고백

우리 교회 공동체는 다음과 같은 공동의 믿음을 고백합니다.​

우리는 만물을 창조하신 성부, 우리의 대속자이신 성자, 구원으로 인도하시는 성령의 삼위일체 하나님을 믿습니다. 예수 그리스도의 십자가와 부활을 통해 우리가 진노의 자녀에서 하나님의 자녀로 거듭났음을 고백하며, 교회는 건물이 아니라 성도들이 연합하여 이룬 영적 공동체임을 믿습니다. 또한 하나님의 영감으로 기록된 신구약 성경을 우리 삶의 최종 권위이자 완전한 진리로 따르며, 마침내 이루어질 예수 그리스도의 재림과 죽은 자의 부활, 최후의 심판과 영원한 생명을 믿고 소망합니다.

새생명교회의 성도로서 우리는 거룩한 신자의 삶을 살아가고자 이렇게 다짐합니다.​

  • 공동체의 일원 | 예배와 사역에 동참하며 성경적·선교적 교회를 세웁니다.

  • 예수님의 제자 | 매일 기도와 말씀으로 삶의 모든 순간 그리스도를 닮아갑니다.

  • 빛과 소금 | 소외된 이웃을 섬기며 세상 속에 그리스도의 사랑과 정의를 심습니다.​

  • 세상의 선교사 | 어디서든 복음의 통로가 되며 열방의 선교사들과 동역합니다.

New Life Korean Church of Champaign is a church community committed to serving immigrants, reaching young adults, and raising up the next generation. Our church was founded on February 7, 1988, as the Korean New Life Free Methodist Church of Urbana, with a mission to share the gospel with Korean students in the Champaign-Urbana area. After serving as an independent church in recent years, we became a member of the Korean Central Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in April 2026.

As a church community, we confess our shared faith in the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that through the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have been made children of God. We believe the Church is not a building, but a spiritual community of believers united in Christ.

We receive the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God, the final authority and truth for our lives. We also look forward with hope to the return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and eternal life.

As members of New Life Korean Church, we seek to live as faithful followers of Christ.

  • A Member of the Community: We participate in worship and ministry, building a biblical and missional church together.

  • A Disciple of Jesus: Through daily prayer and Scripture, we seek to become more like Christ in every area of life.

  • Salt and Light: We serve our neighbors and share the love and justice of Christ in the world.

  • A Missionary Wherever We Go: We seek to be a channel of the gospel wherever God places us and partner with missionaries around the world.
